The fix is a partial removal and re-pour with a thickened edge, typically 6 inches at the perimeter.
• Pavers settling into a bowl shape, collecting water against the Boxabl foundation. In Carlsbad, this happens when the 3/4-inch crushed aggregate base washes out during our occasional heavy winter storms, or when the bedding sand layer was too thick. The underlying cause is almost always inadequate edge restraint; without a concrete soldier course or aluminum edging, the field spreads laterally.
